Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has waded into the Mile 12 marketers crisis which occurred few months back in Lagos. About 40 of the outstanding 72 northerners detained by police were released on bail to the senator on Monday (yesterday).
During his last visit about 2 weeks ago to Mile 12, Lagos, Kwankwaso paid the bail out money to the tune of N65,000 per person for all the 72 detainees to secure their release.
The senator visited the released detainees and gave each and everyone of them an undisclosed sum of money as a token to start a new life -in a ceremony attended by high ranking officers of the Nigerian Police Force, the Hausa Traditional Rulers in Lagos, Leaders of the Mile 12 markets and their members along with the families of the released detainees.
He also made arrangement for their transportation from Lagos back to their various states across the 19 northern States.
