Policemen Seal Off PDP Secretariat

Armed Policemen have sealed off the Wadata
Plaza National secretariat of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP)  in Abuja.

The seal-off is a fallout of the factionalisation of the party, which led to different groups holding  two National conventions on Saturday.

Prof Wale Oladipo, the immediate past National Secretary of the party, who was allegedly sacked by the conven?tion held in Port-Harcourt has teamed up with the faction created by sacked National Chairman, Ali Modu-Sheriff.

The faction had sent out notice that it was going to hold a press conference at the party’s secretariat by 4 pm, but before the arrival of the newsmen and the party officials, policemen had taken over the secretariat.

No one could say exactly when the policemen
arrived.

All the policemen previously attached to the
secretariat who daily provide security for the
edifice have been removed. More than 40 fully armed policemen are currently laying siege to the secretariat.
